Getting My Acesso (A1) Results: What to Expect and How to Interpret Them
After completing the Acesso (A1) Portuguese language exam, I was excited to see my results and officially mark a milestone in my language learning journey. Hereβs what the process looked like for me, including how to get the certificate and how the grading works.
How I Got My Results
The results were published as expected on the official CAPLE results page:

All I needed was my candidate number to access my results online. The process was simple, and I didnβt need to contact anyone to view my score. Online all you get is the basic grade, not the break down (see below).
If you're waiting for your results, I recommend checking this page first.
Getting the Certificate
What I didn't realise is that the certificate is not sent automatically.
Once you have your results, you need to email the exam centre to request your official certificate. In my case, the centre responded promptly and arranged to send the certificate to me by post. Some centres might also offer in-person collection, so itβs worth checking with your local exam centre.
Understanding the Acesso (A1) Grading System
The Acesso exam is graded as follows:
- Muito Bom (Very Good): 85% β 100%
- Bom (Good): 70% β 84%
- Suficiente (Sufficient): 55% β 69%
π Minimum pass mark: 55%
You will see your final classification (Muito Bom, Bom, or Suficiente) on your certificate and the grades for the different sections. Full disclosure - I achieved Muito Bom!
More details about the Acesso exam structure can be found here:

Final Thoughts
Although I was initially unsure about the process, everything went smoothly. The exam centre was helpful, and it felt amazing to receive my certificate and have this official proof of my progress in Portuguese.
If you're taking the Acesso (A1) exam, I hope this gives you a clear idea of what to expect when it comes to getting your results and certificate.
Boa sorte! π
